Evangelism the Servant Way
Acts of Kindness
Acts of Kindness is a community outreach ministry of Emmanuel Church. We perform "acts of kindness" to those in our community who may need a kind word or a kind smile. We expect nothing in return. We show the love of Christ by those kindnesses.
Our motto is: This act of kindness is done to express God's love to you in a practical and caring way.
"Jesus went about doing good." --Acts 10:38
A couple of the ways in which we do this is by doing community car washes (free of charge!), our annual Christmas gift wrapping at the Lilac Mall and by sometimes visiting door-to-door and offering tracts, prayer and sometimes food or toiletries. We always have fun!
Hats and scarves were delivered to oncology patients at Frisbie Hospital. We are now working on prayer shawls, scarves and mittens. Come join us on Fridays to learn how to make them and if you wish to donate yarn you can bring it in on Sundays or drop it off at the Church Office. See Shelley White or Chris Russo if you have questions.

Events
Emmanuel Church has exceeded our goal and raised $40,760 towards construction costs and the home is well under way to completion. Many volunteers have worked for months on this home and as of 5/15 the windows have arrived and are being installed by our dedicated volunteers. Laborers, go-fors, electricians, plumbing and heating technicians and carpenters are all needed. Call Jim White at 944-0145 if you have time to volunteer at the site.
The 3rd Annual Bob Lingard Benefit Ride on September 29th was a success with 31 riders braving the weather to ride and many others donating anyway and staying dry:)
Bob was able to see the riders off and was here for the Community Cookout that followed after the ride. Bob is now able to move about in his wheelchair and is looking forward to living in a home where he can get out of the living room.
There is ongoing fundraising for an accessible home for
Bob Lingard -
